Used SW Machining Centres
SW stands for Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH, based in Schramberg-Waldmössingen, Germany. The manufacturer specialises in horizontal multi-spindle machining centres in which two or more spindles work in parallel. These machines are mainly used in series production, for example for automotive and supplier components.
Typical used SW machines
- Double-spindle machining centres of the BA series, e.g. BA W06-22 and BA 622
- Multi-spindle machining centres for series production
What to check when buying a used SW machine
- Control and software: check the control type, software version and installed options against your programming environment.
- Spindle and axes: spindle hours, run-out, geometry and positioning accuracy should be documented or verifiable on site.
- Maintenance history: service and repair records and replaced assemblies indicate the machine's condition.
- Equipment: clarify which tool magazine, pallet or loading system, coolant and chip conveyor and probing are included.
- Inspection: if possible, see the machine under power and during a test run.
